We Invite You into Our Culture

Tourism Department

At Metlakatla Tourism we must always remember that we are acting as Cultural Ambassadors for our people and our community. It is our mission to represent ourselves and our people in the most positive and accurate way possible. When our guests visit our island, we are giving them an impression of this place and its people that will stay with them hopefully for the rest of their lives.

Getting Here

There are daily flights that connect to Ketchikan from Alaska Airlines. Once landed, there is a ferry which takes you to the town side. From there, you can choose to travel to Metlakatla.

The beautiful boat ride aboard the Alaska Marine Highway Ferry System is a comfortable 45 minutes and has a free return trip to Ketchikan. Depending on the season, AHMS may make 1 -2 trips a day between Annette Bay & Ketchikan.

Float plane flights are another method to reach your destination. This offers beautiful sightseeing opportunities along with a much shorter trip. This takes about 15 minutes to arrive in Metlakatla from Ketchikan. You can book online with Taquan Air.
